Movies

For those of you that don't read my other blog, I have a roommate now. I emptied out my downstairs office and that's now her room. This week we watched a couple of awesome movies, so I thought I would blog about it here. It's a nice neutral topic that shouldn't offend those-who-still-read-this-even-though-I-asked-them-not-to. These are not reviews and I didn't want to blow the endings for those who haven't seen them. It's simply my opinions.

First movie, Lady in the Water. We saw that last night. I put off seeing it for so long because of all the "oh it's not all that good" stuff that came out about it. Well, I loved it. It was better than The Village, not as good as Unbreakable or The Sixth Sense. And did you know he wrote the screenplay for Stuart Little?? I loved that movie! But I digress, Lady in the Water was just a tad slow, but still interesting enough to hold my attention. And ask Bubbles, she will tell you just how short my attention span is. The thing is, this movie was rather fantastical in a mythical sort of way, and that just appeals to me. I do believe it may become one of my favorite movies. Oh, and M. Night Shyamalan was in it tons compared to how much he's shown up in his other movies. He's kinda cute too. lol.

But not as cute as my new favorite hunk (after Hugh Jackman and Johnny Depp of course). Leonardo Dicaprio. Yeah, him, amazing isn't it? I mean he always had cute fresh face boyish good looks, but the boy has grown up. And he's hot. Allow me to show you:

The movie we saw with Leonardo was The Departed. I wasn't completely thrilled with the ending, but it was still a good movie. A very long movie. lol. It had an outstanding cast. Along with Leonardo, it also had Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen, and Mark Walburg. It's not a mushy feel-good movie. Lots of shooting, don't let the kids watch. ;)

Speaking of the kids, you have to let them see Cinderella III. The wicked step-bitch gets hold of the magic wand and fucks things up for Cinderelly. No sitting around waiting for help this time, Cinderella goes after her man, but he did get to come to the rescue once. Very balanced. Very feel-good movie. And funny in spots too. :)

Oh Kat...you liked "Lady"? I'm so sorry. I was so excited to see it and so disappointed when it was finished. I actually liked "The Village" a little bit more because at least the story was freaking believable!

Departed - I agree, the ending sort of sucked, especially after investing such a long time watching it. Otherwise it was a very good movie and really forced you to keep track of who was talking to whom when and where.
