Dilemma

I have a dilemma. Which dress should I get for Halloween? I'm thinking of having a party. Opinions please.

This one is nice and flouncy.

But I'm thinking this one would accentuate my breasts better.

Plus this one is velvety!

It's quiz day

I found this one at Xmichra's.

Air Fairy

The Air Fairy is teeming with creative energy. She loves all art, music, stories, imaginion, anything that helps her escape her own boring reality. She pours all her emotion into what she does, which makes her an extraordinary artist. Her natural exhuberance gains her many friends, but she likes being by herself doing what she does best, dreaming! She's friendly, but sometimes seems distant and often loses herself (or others) in her thoughts. She might seem eccentric, but it's just her being herself, which is what everyone should do!
Found at Rae Ann's.

Pissed off

Would someone please explain to me why files created on my laptop and saved on a CD will not show up on my home computer so I can print them? And the one that does show up says "read only". It's the same program and everything that I'm using. It would be easier to write the damn thing on paper and turn it in that way!

First day of school

So I started back to school today. Three hour computer hardware class, then an hour and a half English class. I like both teachers and I have homework! A one page essay on a poem of my choice. I have an online computer class too, but I'm having technical difficulties and haven't been able to log in yet. Next school day is Wednesday. I only go Mondays and Wednesdays so, because of labor day next week is only Wednesday. A slow start, but that could be a good thing.

Rain

I was thinking that we need rain, and it made me long for a nice summer shower, not a storm. You know the kind that causes everything to smell good and fresh, washing all the dirt away.

School

I start school Monday. I'm getting pretty excited now. I have one beginning computer class online. Another beginning computer class and english class on Mondays and Wednesdays. Pretty cool that I only have to be at school two days a week. Ok, so here is the rundown on all the fun it took me to get there.

First I got the computer class for Tuesdays and Thursdays. Had to take the other class online because the school overlapped the them and both are prerequisites for everything else. But the Tuesday, Thursday English class was full. So I waited a few days until the deadline to pay fees, then the next day two spots opened up. I had my English class. Several days later they call to tell my my Tuesday, Thursday computer class in which I arranged my entire schedule around was canceled.

Fuck.

So I called the head of the department, and he gave me a different class in which I could take as a substitute. No Tuesday, Thursday class, just a Monday, Wednesday class. So I check English classes, there I found an early evening Monday, Wednesday class. So I go back to school and drop the old English class, add the new English class and the substitute computer class.

Voila, perfect schedule. And all it took was three trips to Admissions.

Bad dreams and homecomings

My toddler woke me up a bit after 4 am. She's been doing it for a couple of weeks always between 3 and 5. Anyway, I calm her down and get her going back to sleep and I go back to bed. I had the most terrible dreams, very intense and they bounced around a couple of different ways. It was the kind you wake up feeling bad from.

Then this afternoon I found out that hubs is on his way home. Right now. Should be here tomorrow night. The contract ran out, or out of money, or something. He is here a day or two then to Texas to out-process. Then he has two different jobs lined up. One a contract here in the states, the other, I'm not sure what it is actually. But it's in Maryland, and no, I'm not moving. I'm really not sure what we are doing, where we are going, or if we are even a we anymore. I don't think I was ready to deal with this yet, I thought I had a couple more months to pretend everything is fine.

Fuck. I have a headache.

Natural Wonders

Tonight I was watering my flowerbeds and right over the Zinnias a little hummingbird suddenly appeared. It hovered for a moment, then zipped off, as if suddenly aware of how close it had come to a human encounter. It reminded me of a couple other little things.

Last week I was in a rather evil mood and taking it out on my yard. One of the chores I had to get done was dragging the pieces of the girl's old swing-set up front to put them in the back of hubs truck. The theory is that eventually I will drive the truck to the dump and get rid of it. Anyway on one trip I bent over to pick up another piece and there was the prettiest yellow feather with black on it. It made me pause, and part of my bad mood evaporated.

The other little event I thought of happened in New York. I can't believe I forgot to blog about it. When we were down in the subway waiting for it a little white butterfly went by. It was so odd to see it down there. I felt special to get to see it.

Grey's Anatomy ~ Season 1 Disk 2

Blockbuster finally had the second disk in for season one. Season 2 is coming out next month, I'm hoping to catch it as soon as possible so I'm not lost when the new season starts.

So anyway, anyone who watches the show knows how Meredith Grey narrarates the show. On one episode I saw today she's comparing life and fairy tales. She says something I really liked.

"And it's not so important that it's happy ever after. Just that it's happy right now. See, once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you. And once in a while, people may even take your breath away."

I am so addicted to this show.

Justin who?

**Second post of the day, make sure you go check out the first one below!**

Justin Timberlake has gone naughty. Check out the little video below. (ignore the stupid commercial before it)

Here are the lyrics:

Sexy Back

I'm bringing sexy back (yeah)
Them other boys don't know how to act (yeah)
I think your special what’s behind your back (yeah)
So turn around and I’ll pick up the slack. (yeah)

Take em' to the bridge (listen)

[Bridge]
Dirty babe (aha)
You see these shackles
Baby I'm your slave (aha)
I'll let you whip me if I misbehave (aha)
It's just that no one makes me feel this way (aha)

Take em' to the chorus

[Chorus]
Come here girl
Go ahead, be gone with it
Come to the back
Go ahead, be gone with it
VIP
Go ahead, be gone with it
Drinks on me
Go ahead, be gone with it
Let me see what you're twerking with
Go ahead, be gone with it
Look at those hips
Go ahead, be gone with it
You make me smile
Go ahead, be gone with it
Go ahead child
Go ahead, be gone with it
And get your sexy on (yes)
Go ahead, be gone with it

Get your sexy on (yes)
Go ahead, be gone with it
[X6]

Get your sexy on

I'm bringing sexy back (yeah)
Them other fuckers don't know how to act (yeah)
Come let me make up for the things you lack (yeah)
Cause your burning up I gotta get it fast (yeah)

Take em' to the bridge (listen)

[Bridge]
[Chorus]
You ready [x3]
Yes

I'm bringing sexy back (yeah)
You mother fuckers watch how I attack (yeah)
If that's your girl better watch your back (yeah)
Cause she'll burn it up for me and that's a fact (yeah)

Take em' to the chorus
[Chorus]
Your ready (yes) [x2]
Yes

Look what I found!

Google has a video search now! And a video player! And look what I found!

Charmed

I'm really going to miss that show.

What's going on

I registered for school yesterday. I can only take two computer classes because all the others need those two for a prerequisite. The only times those two classes are offered overlap. Duh. But one can be taken online so I'm taking it online. That's it for this semester. I have most of the extras like English, Statistics, and Economics from the last time I went there, so I don't have to take those again. :) Classes start at the end of this month.

School for my oldest starts in TWO DAYS! On a Friday for some reason, half day. But next week all day all week! Woohoo!

*I do love my oldest child, but damn she can be a handful!

Funny stuff

I got this in an email today and thought I would share it.

Consider these 3 thoughts:

(1) Zero Gravity
When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered
that ball point pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat this
problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion developing a pen
that writes in zero gravity, upside down, on almost any surface including
glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to over 300 degrees
centigrade. The Russians used a pencil. Your taxes are due again--enjoy
paying them.

(2) Our Constitution
They keep talking about drafting a constitution for Iraq. Why don't we
just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, and
worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it any more.

(3) Ten Commandments
The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse
is that you cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal", "Thou Shalt Not Commit
Adultery", and "Thou Shalt Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges,
and politicians. It creates a hostile work environment.

Apologies and catch up

I've been trying to keep up with my blogging, but I keep missing people here and there. Also, I'm terrible about responding to comments and emails. I've just been busy with after vacation clean up and getting ready for school. T starts back next Friday, and I was supposed to register myself to go back yesterday, but we had a storm blow through that knocked out a bunch of lights and traffic was hell, so I had to wait. I'm going Tuesday morning while my mom has the kids. I'm going back to the same college I went to years ago so hopefully it will be a smooth process. I even think some of the classes I need for my two-year program can be skipped because I had them, or something close before. It depends on how picky they are about how long it's been since I took them.

While shopping for T's school stuff, I got me a few things too. Including these cute little sandals! We can wear sandals down here right into Novemeber sometimes, and these are less summer-ish than my others.

I posted pictures in three separate posts below. Make sure to check them out.

More Pictures ~ Part 1

**I finally managed to get blogger to upload my pictures, so here is more vacation stuff.

The second and third days we were in Washington, we saw a bunch of different monuments and museums. Again, I tried to see stuff that would appeal to all of us, and there is no way you can see half of everything in only three days. It's just an excuse to plan a trip back, right?

I do have to say here that the people, not just workers and stuff, but everyone we ran across was nice. Really. Several times we stopped to check our little guide, and obviously we were tourists and a local just stopped and asked what we needed. We got around on the metro train while we were there so we didn't actually have to drive into the capitol area. The first time it was completely alien to us, and the guy working down there walked us through what we needed to do and gave us a little guide to the different stations. After that it was easy to figure out. Even the two year old was a pro at getting on and off the zillion escalators that lead in and out of the stations by the time we were done.

Ok, so here are a sampling of picures from the rest of our time in DC.

Poetry Break

I couldn't get the pictures I wanted to post to upload on blogger, so here's something I wrote last month. Be nice, I wrote it late one night when I couldn't sleep.

Come to me
in my dreams
dear lover.

Take me in
your arms.

Hold me close.
Kiss me again.

Whisper my name
as I whisper yours.

Come to me
in my dreams
dear lover.

The National Zoo

On our trip, I tried to go places we adults would enjoy, but also the kids wouldn't be bored silly. Which isn't easy as far apart in age as my kids are. The first day in Washington DC we went to the National Zoo.

Of course, the kitties were one of my favorites! Aren't they sweet?!?! We have cheetahs at our zoo, but the area they are in here sucks and you can never see them.

The giraffe made me feel shorter.

Everytime I look at this picture the Miami Vice (the show, not the new movie) theme song pops in my head.

There was a baby sloth bear. He was six months old.

Panda in a tree. None of us had seen a panda in person before.

This is the new baby Panda, Tai Shan. He turned one earlier in July. The mom is in the back if you look close. At one point he rolled around and the whole crowd went "awww" at the same time. He was sooooo cute!

Cool air finally!

Thanks to Rae Ann's hubby, my upstairs air now works!

New song

This song has been around for a while, and I just love it. I can't hardly sit still when it comes on.

Enjoy!

Updates

We had a great vacation! It took us twelve hours to get home! That included two stops to eat, and a couple of other quicky stops. I had completely forgotten my upstairs air went out just before we left, it should be fixed by tonight. I have tons more pictures. I only put a few on my laptop, but now that I'm home I will transfer them all on my home computer and bombard you with pictures and stories! hehe. So, look for more vacation posts tonight or tomorrow, I'll spread it out a few days or so. Right now, I need to stock up groceries, catch up laundry, and unpack.

I'm home!

I've been home less than half an hour, and I'm blogging. :)
