You're Iceland!
Most people think you're a cold and forbidding person, but you're actually naturally warm and inviting. People just get scared off by what other people have led them to believe about you. You keep to yourself for the most part, and are pretty good at fending for yourself, especially if water's involved. More people should visit you and find out the truth.

I've Been Googled!
I have a new little thing, thanks to Michael where I can see keywords used in searches that pulls up my blog. And here is my first to show up: "gals in their undies". Now, some of you may remember this post. Apparently it is still coming back to haunt me! When I googled the same phrase, I came up second on the list. It bugs me a little that someone came to my site looking for gals in their undies, but I am a little flattered that I came up in a google search. Talk about conflicting emotions!

Too hot to swim
Here in the south we have finally hit that time of summer where it is too hot to swim. I suppose if we were closer to the ocean, it wouldn't be so bad. Tomorrow the girls and I shall escape to the mountains where it must be a little cooler. We are going to pack a picnic, and take the dog too. The dog hates outside more than us right now. She is a golden retriever, very fluffy. She goes out to do her business and sprints back into the cool air conditioned home. But she loves the water, so I thought we could let her play in that cool mountain river.

School
My daughter starts her first year at public school in two in a half weeks. She will be a third grader, and we have homeschooled until now. We both liked homeschooling, but were becoming weary of it and decided on a break. They are just finishing a brand new elementary school close to us, so this seemed like a good time to try it out. I will be watching her work closely to make sure she isn't having trouble. We are both excited and nervous about this new experience for her. Wish us luck!

Harry Potter
I finished the new Harry Potter book. I liked it and wasn't too surprised by the outcome.

It's a girl!
I believe I have mentioned before that my sister is expecting her first baby in December. She was absolutely convinced that it was going to be a boy. Well, she found out Thursday that it's a girl! I'm going to have a niece.
We are all very excited!

Misunderstood
I know what they think.
She's selfish and cold.
They just don't understand.
My soul is not sold.
I'm a thinker and sensitive.
In a world of my own.
I feel pain and hurt.
I've spent too much time alone.
My goals are clear.
Find peace and happiness.
Learn to trust and hope.
Escape the madness.

Just a quick post to wish everyone a good Fourth of July.
May your drinks be cold,
And your fireworks loud!
When you see Old Glory,
Stand tall and be proud!

Little Cabin in the Woods
Once we got to the cabin, we unpacked and settled in. After a bit, we walked down to the swimming hole at the river. The two bigger kids (my T age 7 and my nephew D age 3) played in one little shallow area. We mommies sat with the babies (my B age 18 months and nephew TC 9 months) in a different shallow area. TC sat in the water and splashed until he was soaked. B wouldn't even put a toe in the first day.
The next day we took a walk and looked at the river from a different view. Back at the cabin we let the two big kids play in the creek that runs beside the cabin. Later in the afternoon we returned to the swimming hole at the river. B actually started playing in the water. I moved her a couple of times until she was sitting in the water playing with the rocks and making little splashes.
After we returned the babies to their strollers, it was time for the mommies to have some fun. We both jumped in the deeper area. It was so cold! I believe my exact words when I first came up were "Holy Sh..Sh...Sh...". But once we were out of the water, it was nice and warm. I almost did it again.
We also spent a lot of time sitting around doing nothing, something mommies don't get to do very often. I will post a few more pictures of the trip later.
