Sick
My cold has turned into a sinus infection so you may not get much from me this week. I'll change the song out every night like I promised and visit folks, but that's about it.

My music
I have decided I am going to go with a theme with my music videos on the sidebar. At least until I run out of ideas! The first theme week will start tonight. I plan to change the video every night.
This week, Flashback Week! Look for big hair and tight pants. (I went to high school in the 80's, remember?)
Next week's theme: Madonna. Oh yeah, she's awesome. I may give her two weeks.

Weekend Plans
I decided to work on my house this weekend. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but most room in this house needs to be painted. I don't think any of the rooms have been painted since the house was built (about 9 years), except for the girls rooms. T's room has a nice mural in it, every wall. It has grass, a tree, and water with a ship full of SEC mascots. We had to explain to her what those were. It was apparently painted for a baby boy two owners ago. I added decals of butterflies, bees, and flowers to the mural and a poster of Disney Princesses on the closet door to girl it up a bit. I offered to put her dresser in front of the ship, but she said she liked it. Little B's room we painted light yellow and I put up Winnie the Pooh decals, a Pooh coat rack, a cloth balloon hanging from her old room and a picture of a little girl standing in flowers from my room in the old place that she always liked. So that leaves the rest of the house.
I finally decided about what color I wanted my bathroom so Thursday night I went to buy some paint. I checked out the Disney paint by Behr, and found the perfect color. The name? Tinkerbell. It is a very pretty green, almost mint, just a tad brighter. Friday I was anxious to get started, so during B's nap I took everything off the walls, including part of the light fixture above the mirror, lightly sanded the walls, and wiped them down. Not only is this paint job nine years old, but it is that cheap flat paint. T went to spend the night at her Grammie's so after I put little B to bed, I went to work on the bathroom again. I managed to get the largest portion of walls painted, both coats. It looked great. I figured Saturday during nap I paint the other half of the room. Then Saturday night I could get the trim painted. By Sunday I would be putting up shelves, cabinets, and towel holders. Right?
Right?
Wrong.
I woke up Saturday sick. Stuffy head, sore throat, burning nose. The works. I decided to take it easy and do only what I had to. I spent most of the day reading while B watched TV and played. (Cell by Stephen King, most awesome.) I only had to go out to pick T up and pick a few things up at the store, and get dinner, cuz this chick wasn't cooking. So Sunday I should feel better, right?
Wrong.
I felt worse. Dozed on the couch while the kids watched TV half the day. I napped while B napped. I started feeling better after the nap and actually managed to get the dishes done. But there is no way that bathroom is getting done any day soon. *sigh* So I am showering in the girls shower indefinitely. The little Pooh and baby duck decals in their shower used to be cute. Now, they are just annoying.
I have before pictures of the bathroom. I will post them with finished pictures whenever I finish.
Oh, I put a new video up too. T was watching Spiderman II on HBO family, and it made me think of this song. Great music and Spiderman.

I Feel Like A Woman
Don't forget to scroll down and check out the video on the sidebar.
Man I Feel Like A Woman
By Shania Twain
I'm going out tonight--I'm feelin' alright
Gonna let it all hang out
Wanna make some noise---really raise my voice
Yeah, I wanna scream and shout
No inhibitions--make no conditions
Get a little outta line
I ain't gonna act politically correct
I only wanna have a good time
BRIDGE:
The best thing about being a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun and...
CHORUS:
Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy--forget I'm a lady
Men's shirts--short skirts
Oh, oh, oh, really go wild--yeah, doin' it in style
Oh, oh, oh, get in the action--feel the attraction
Color my hair--do what I dare
Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free--yeah, to feel the way I feel
Man! I feel like a woman!
The girls need a break--tonight we're gonna take
The chance to get out on the town
We don't need romance--we only wanna dance
We're gonna let our hair hang down
(BRIDGE)
(CHORUS)
(BRIDGE)
(CHORUS)
I get totally crazy
Can you feel it
Come, come, come on baby
I feel like a woman

Fun in the snow
This is a video is of our golden retriever, Tara. She just loves playing in the snow. Unfortunately we don't get snow here much, so she tends to go a little nuts when we do.
Who let the dog out?
Who let the dog out?
Letter to my Pets
Dear Dogs and Cats,
The dishes with the paw print are yours & contain your food. The other dishes
are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of
my plate & food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food & dish, nor do
I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to
the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster
than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this.
Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs
& cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to
sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible.
I also know that sticking tails straight out & having tongues hanging out the
other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some
miracle I beat you there & manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to
claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try
to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I
have been using the bathroom for years -- canine or feline attendance is not
mandatory.
The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's behind. I
cannot stress this enough!
To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front
door:
All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets
1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.
(That's why they call it "fur"niture.)
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is
short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

My Interview
Chris posted these interview questions over at his blog after I volunteered. If you want to try it yourself, the rules are at the bottom of this post.
1. What is the weirdest thing you've ever done? And by weird, I mean, you told someone about it and they looked at you and said, "Dude, that is f***ed up." The weirdest thing I can think of is when we went to buy a house. We just decided one day, lets not build a house here in the middle of nowhere, lets go back to town. Without even thinking we dropped the kids off at Bubble's place and looked at 2 or 3 houses. We made an offer on one that day. Now, I am usually not that impulsive. But this house (the one I live in now) just seemed perfect. It was MY HOUSE. I lived in this area before (another neighborhood mile down the road) about 12 years before, and loved the area. My current neighborhood wasn't even built then. The road has completely changed since then. I remember thinking then that I was where I was supposed to be and was a bit surprised when I ended up moving. Little did I know I would be back.
2. What did you want to be when you grew up? Well, that changed about every other month. Veterinarian and journalist were most popular with me when I was a kid. In the back of my head I always wanted to do something with music. I really wanted to dance, I love dance. Playing an instrument would have been next, but I never had the opportunity to take any sort of lessons. I love to sing, but have never been brave enough to do it in front of people.
3. What would make you truly happy? Aside from the obvious (happiness and health for your children, etc) I want to know what would make you truly happy. And it's okay to be selfish in your answer. This one is a hard one. The one I have spent the most time on. What would make me happy? It would be interesting to find out what those that know me, or think they know me would answer for me. I'm pretty sure people try to make me more complicated than I am. The answer is pure and simple. Love. Given and received. Not obsession or possession, but simple, open, honest love. I'm really a simple girl.
4. If you could go back in time and change one thing about your own life and one historic event, what would they be and why? One thing about my life, that would have to be not standing up for myself as a teen. I should have stood up to my stepmother and father. They treated me unfairly and even if standing up to them didn't change things, at least I would know I tried. One historic event? There are so many to choose from.
5. Have you changed as a person through blogging? If so, how? I am more confident about myself, much less shy than I used to be. Online and off. I would never have let someone read what I have written before, now I post it for the whole world to see. I have, and still am discovering who I am, apart from my family. I'm not just T's mom, or J's wife. I am a person of my own.
These are the official rules to interview.
For those of you who may want to be interviewed in this fashion, here are the Official Interview Games Rules:
If you want to participate, leave a comment below saying, "interview me".
I will respond by asking you five questions - each person's will be different.
You will update your journal/blog with the answers to the questions.
You will include this explanation and an offer to interview others in the same post.
When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Angel
by Sarah McLachlan
(the video should be playing on the sidebar)
Spend all your time waiting
for that second chance
for a break that would make it okay
there's always one reason
to feel not good enough
and it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
oh beautiful release
memory seeps from my veins
let me be empty
and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight
in the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort there
so tired of the straight line
and everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back
and the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lie
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escaping one last time
it's easier to believe in this sweet madness oh
this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees
in the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie

Pictures of stuff
The wall in the local Applebees. We actually lived near Nashville when the Titans first came to Tennessee. It was neat watching the stadium go up slowly.
This is the static sticker on the back window of my car. It is a faery cat celtic design I bought it at the Celtic shop in Gatlinburg a couple of years ago.
My nightstand. See the purple kitty? My oldest picked it out for me year before last when I was in the hospital. She said "I picked it because it is so you".
Have you voted?

The Legend of Zorro
I rented The Legend of Zorro the other night. It had this gorgeous fellow in it.
Isn't he beautiful?
Oh yeah, Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones were in it too. Both beautiful in their own right. Although I must say Antonio isn't aging as well as most actors.
But back to my favorite character. He's huge for one thing, gorgeous thick black hair. He is also a bit of comedic relief. At one point chugging what I assumed to be wine and belching then later smoking a pipe. Overall the movie was good, but I liked the first one better.
I googled (as I always do) and found out that this wonderful breed of horse is called a Friesian.
This isn't the same horse from the movie, but it is the same breed.

What to do when your heat isn't heating
1. Fiddle with the thermastat a couple of times.
2. Stand in a chair to see if the air coming from the vent is hot or cold.
3. If the air coming out is cold, curse it quietly.
4. Turn off heat and climb into the attic to look at the furnace.
5. Read and follow intstructions on the furnace carefully
6. When having trouble finding where the d**n pilot light is, curse loudly.
7. Go to the internet and google to find better instructions.
8. Climb back into the attic when you realize you need the freakin' model number.
9. Find and print manual.
10. Climb into the attic once again with the manual.
11. Curse the f**king furnace when the f**king diagram doesn't even resemble it!
12. Spend five minutes looking for where the actual pilot light is.
13. Once you find it, curse it for not being in the proper place, then follow lighting instructions carefully.
14. Once back in the house turn heat back on, when the air coming out of the vent is warm, go blog about your f**king experience.
15. Replace furnace with electric one before next fall.

Madonna
Make sure you check out the video on the sidebar. It is one of Madonna's best! Lot's of hotties in it and a pretty little cat too!
Eye Candy Thank You
Bubbles suggested that as a thank you for all the votes I have received I should post some eye candy. Personally I think she just wanted to see some herself. I made sure to pick eye candy that would appeal to everyone.

Bald guys and sleeping late
It was a normal day in a little shop down by the river. The guy that plays Lex Luthor on Smallville was making shoes and we were watching. That's when I realized that I couldn't find the baby. I started calling her name and looking for her. I was so afraid she had wandered too close to the river. Suddenly I hear "Momma" . Wait a minute that is my oldest daughter. "Momma." I don't remember her being here.
Then I am in my bedroom, it is still dark and my oldest is standing in the door way. According to the clock it is only 6:23am. The alarm doesn't go off until 6:30am. She said the phone had been ringing. So I check the caller id, and it was Mom. I'm imagining that she had fallen and couldn't get up, but then how did she get the phone??? So I call her back. She said schools are closed. wtf? I can hear traffic on the road below from my bedroom window, it's just zipping by. There isn't even snow left here. So I go downstairs and check the website. It is closed because roads are bad in some areas of the county. When I was a kid city and county schools were separate, but now they are combined. I remember being so jealous that the county kids didn't have to go, but us city kids did.
So I went up and told T that she could go back to sleep, that school was out for the day. I checked on the two year old, because I was still a bit disturbed by my dream. Then I went back to sleep for TWO MORE HOURS before the little one woke us up.
Just my luck, I dream about a guy from a TV show and do I get the HOT super hero? No, just the bald bad guy.

Restless
Go figure.
I found this cute little quiz over at Kaliblue's.
Your Passion is Pink! |
You're the type of woman that would never get described as passionate... Oh but you can be passionate at times - you just don't let it show. Your passion most shows through in your sweet and optimistic attitude. And chances are, most people are very passionate about you! |

Game Time
Stolen from Xmichra:
It’s time to play a game, dontcha think?
And this is an easy one that you all can play along with, here are the rules:
1. Grab the nearest book
2. Open the book to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences (#5,6,7) on your blog, along with these instructions.
5. Don’t you dare dig for that “cool” or “intellectual” book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it. Just grab what is closest. No cheating.
He nodded with a half smile that was trusting and grateful and kind. He went on out the door. I stood trembling, listening to him make the stairs, and then the carriageway.
From Blood Canticle by Anne Rice. I haven't even had time to read this book yet! Maybe that's what i will do tonight.
Here is the overflowing bookcase just behind my seat at the desk. You can see the book I used on the top of the tallest stack! I really need to get another book case, or two. The other three I have are just as full!

Little B playing in her first snow
This is the first snow that B has been old enough to play in. She spent a lot of time pushing it around with her feet.
This is right after she fell over and got snow on her forehead and face a little. Being the great mom I am, I snapped a pic before helping her up and brushing her off.
Trying to get snow off of her mittens.

We finally got snow!!!
This is the first snow that has stuck all year, and the first good snow we have had since the day I brought little B home from the hospital! (two years ago) The snow even covers my pink Tinkerbell decal on the backwindow of my car! You can just barely see it if you look close enough.
I will post my HNT later. I finished the Firefly series, so I should be posting more regular now.

Missing Blogger
Ok, so I haven't been blogging much lately. You see I saw this movie Serenity on DVD. I had seen the trailer at the beginning of another movie and meant to see it in the theater, but didn't make it back and forgot about it. So I finally saw it. Very good if you are into SciFi, space ships, but no aliens.
But on with my story. Chris clued me into the fact that there was a whole short-lived series that goes with the movie. Being the good geek that I am, I had to see it. I actually looked for it before I saw Serenity but couldn't find it. Then, last week when I was trading my movies at Blockbuster, I found it. So I have been using most of my evenings watching it. I am up to disk 3! It is really good. It is called Firefly, and it is taking up most of my spare time.
Also, I know I need to update my links, some of my favorite places aren't on there yet! If you aren't there and I visit you a lot, I'll probably get you there soon.

B's new bed
Here is a picture of B's new bed. We had to run out and buy her a new one after Daddy broke the old one. The old one had those little hard plastic latches at each end of the front panel to hold the piece in place. Apparently Daddy yanked to hard once and it popped off. Now, being fair, the bed was about 11 years old. My aunt used it with her youngest then passed it to me three years later when I had my oldest. B was the third kid to sleep in it.
When T was this age, she moved to a toddler bed, but little B still falls off of stuff too much for that! This bed is a convertible one. It is so neat! That front piece that is lowered in the picture comes off and it becomes a toddler day-bed. Then when she out grows that we buy a new frame and the back part can be used as a headboard on a full sized bed. Needless to say, this chick is getting her moneys worth!
And to top it off, as if we hadn't scarred the baby for life enough. About a month after buying the new bed the front part broke! A small piece of wood splintered off where a screw had gone in wrong. Manufacturing glitch. I called Babies R Us where we bought it, and they let me bring in just that part and swap it with another from a different box. Now, I started to take the part off with B in the room, she just bawled! Poor baby. So I took her to her Grammie's house came home and swapped it out, put it back together, and picked her up. She doesn't even know I did it!
