New song up

It's Madonna. I wanted "Into the Groove", but they didn't have it. So you get "Express Yourself" for now. Awesome video. Check it out.

Losing my mind

So I have been going almost 24/7 with the kids for a month. They have gone to my mom's a couple of times, but I spend that time running around doing things I can't do with them, so it's really not a break, is it? I've started this post over three times since this morning. I'm trying like hell to not sound like a total bitch, but let's face facts. I am. Day in day out of nothing but kids and dishes and taking the dog out and feeding the cats, dog, rabbit, kids. Do you know how often kids eat? Laundry is never caught up and grass is growing in my flower beds!

I got new tires. Took the kids and got new tires. Do you know, when I walk by my car, it smells like new tires. And when I drive it doesn't pull to the right all the time. It's so smooth now. And you know the best part? The tires were on sale! Now if I can just remember to take them in every 5000 miles for rotation and balance it's free. I'm excited over new tires, how sad is that??

New news about my decision to go back to school. I decided to go with a shorter degree. Something I can actually get a job at in two years, give or take a semester. I register in August.

There's a little mystery over at Belle of the Brawl. Apparently today's guest is MIA. I think the guest in question should confess so regular brawlers may commence public ridicule.

I know this post was rambly and messy and not in my usually style. I'll try to be me again in a day or two.

Picture Post

These first two pictures are of my office.

Here is a picture I found of Bubbles and Mr. Bubbles. It was taken at Christmas in 1998, or maybe '99. I apologize for the quality of the picture. My scanner is broken, so I had to use my digital camera to take a picture of this picture.

Catching up

Saturday, I started working fixing up my office again. You may remember I painted it purple and organized my books a while back? Well I finally got a chance to work on it some more. It needed organization badly. I've thrown and given away tons of stuff and still have too much! Mostly craft and kid stuff. But this weekend I managed to get a lot of it organized. Of course, just when things were coming along, I had to stop for an interuption. My oldest wanted to go to Toysrus because they were doing a "decorate a Holly Hobby bandanna" thing. It's really cute. I have to go buy fabric markers now because she didn't have time to finish and of course, the store didn't have them. I'll post a picture of it once she finishes. While she was doing that little B and I went walking around and found a new kitty for her.

And a new kitty for me.

Jeffrey the big Toysrus giraffe was there. Poor B was scared to death of him! Oh well, I didn't think to take my camera anyway. She'll outgrow it and meet him another time.

Then we headed over to Petsmart for dog food, rabbit food, and cat litter. Borders is in the same little center, and I decided to pop in for a couple of travel guides for our road trip. We are leaving in just four weeks! I sent T over to the kids section and head for the travel section. On the way there I spot the book that comes before The DaVinci code. Well, I need that because I had started the Da Vinci code, then decided I wanted to read the other first, so I grabbed it. Then I was distracted by the Sci Fi/Fantasy section, but didn't buy anything there. Finally made it to the travel section. Do you know how much Frommer's travel guides are? I settled for a couple of pocket guides and took B to join T over in the kids section. T had a new Tinkerbell and friends chapter book she wanted and we found a Barney book for B. So I went in the bookstore for a couple of little travel guides and ended up spending $50. That's exactly why I don't go to bookstores more often.

We get home and I get started again only to realize after a while that I need more storage space. So out again we took a short trip to Walmart. I have this love/hate thing going with them. They are so convienent, when they aren't out of what I want! I found the little drawer cart I wanted only they didn't have the size I wanted. I settled for the next size down. We also picked up a couple of things I forgot when I got groceries. Oh and found some shoes in my new color. That peachy/orangy color like my sunset colored nail polish. Cute and comfy.

I worked on the office more on Sunday, it's almost where I want it. It really shouldn't be taking so long, but with all the kid interuptions, as well as the day to day stuff, dishes, pets, eating, etc. it is very slow going. I did get a bunch of laundry done too though. That's something I suppose.

Oh, and today is my sister's birthday, so Happy Birthday Sassy! She's 29 today! hehe. She's gonna kill me for posting that.

I finally did it.

I've wanted to do it for years.

But I was never bold enough.

Now,

I am.

Yep, that's right.

I had my nose pierced.

I also had my ear cartilage redone. My sister, Sassy and I had it done together in 1995, when she was only 18. When I was pregnant with my 2-year-old it kept getting infected and I had to let it grow up. I've missed it.

I want the cute little barely there kind in my nose, but they want you to use the ring for a couple of months first because the other kind can fall out easy. So, here I am with a ring in my nose. I kinda like the ring.

New song

Bubbles was complaining that I needed a new song, so I changed it. I'm back to Shania, and since it's stormy here I picked the one with the scenes from Twister.

New Game

A fun new blog game to play. Found over at Xmichra's

I will list 3 things that I’ve never done at the bottom of this post. They all begin: “I have never…”

You should copy these instructions and my list to your blog. BUT you should remove the top item and add a new item to the bottom of the list - it should be something that YOU have never done, and it can be about anything you like.

You should also go back over the remaining 2 things I listed and highlight (in bold, a different colour, italics, however you want) the things that are not true for you (ie You have done them).

This way, the list is constantly evolving and changing through every iteration.

You can only repost a list to your blog if none of the previous “I have never…”’s that you have answered are there.

PS - Dont forget to post a comment here if you are playing the game!

Here goes:
I have never had an orgy.
I have never had my genitals pierced.

I have never been in a threesome.

Check me out

Today I am a guest over at Sar's Belle of the Brawl.

Sex and wrinkles

There is absolutely nothing on TV. So I wandered over to TBS and started watching a rerun of Sex and the City. I have only seen a couple of these before, and although I was mildly curious I thought it was a little silly. I used to watch Law and Order for years, I still watch Law and Order CI, and it's just weird seeing Chris Noth being some super rich suave guy. I'm used to seeing him be a mean-ass cop with bad English.

What was I saying? Oh yeah, so I've only seen a couple of these, but nothing else was on so here I am. One chick, Charlotte, is dating this guy who isn't circumcised. So the next day at lunch the girls are discussing it because she had never seen one before and she says it looks like a shar pei! One of those wrinkled dogs. There were other story lines, but that one stood out so to speak. The show really is ridiculous.

Weekends Suck

The only other adult I have talked to in person today was my mother. For about five minutes. She called to see what time I am bringing the girls over tomorrow. We sold a piece of land that we owned. We lived on it in a mobile home for two years planning to build our dream home. Like most of my dreams, the plan didn't work out. But it's ok really. We moved back into town and I think I like being in the city close to everything better. Plus we are in a little subdivision with other kids for the girls to play with. Things work out in the end.

Today has been a very dreary, weary day. First I slept late, then took a nap when little B did because I wasn't feeling well. Now I have a headache. Fucking hormones. Men should experience what it is like to be a girl just for one week. And yeah, I mean THAT week. PMS. It's hell I tell you. Angry in the morning, bawling in the afternoon, cheerful in the evening, headaches, and all of your pants are suddenly too damn tight. And for some reason, all I can think about is sex. I even dreamed about sex last night. It seems to get worse as I get older too. Is that normal? Ha, who am I kidding, when have I ever been normal?

So lets discuss sex. Why? Because it's my blog, damn it. (Apparently excessive profanity is also a PMS symptom.) Anywho, about sex. For a while after my oldest was born, I didn't even want it. Didn't think about it, didn't care about it. But after my second was born, everything went back to normal. Or maybe hyper-normal. hehe. Why is that? Is it the having the kids part, or the getting older part? I've know of women that stop wanting sex and never want it again. It seems like everything women do changes things. Having babies, getting tubes tied, and certain types of birth control. And of course, you have to actually be with someone you want to have sex with. But lets not go there today.

A Loquacious Post

I haven't posted anything of much substance in a while so I figured I would start a post and just babble about the last couple of days. Friday the girls let me sleep in a bit to make up for the sleep I missed on our trip. Little B spent a few hours at my Mom's while T and I ran to the store for a few things. Then we were home for a quick lunch and a couple of hours of quiet. I had planned to finish organizing my office, but spent a couple of hours surfing the internet instead. I intended to cut random surfing out, but I really didn't feel like doing anything else so that's what I did. Anyway, after a bit we went to pick up the toddler then picked the dog up at the vet where she had been staying while we were out of town. After dinner and the girls were in bed I retired to my room for some TV. Although, I can't remember now what I watched. Some reruns on USA probably.

Saturday came early although not as early as it should have. My Father-in-law had called me on Thursday evening to let me know they had planned breakfast at a park near their home. The girls and I were invited, breakfast would be served at 7am. Considering my girls don't wake up before 8 am and we live about an hour and a half away we were a bit late. Bubbles and her family didn't arrive until 9, my girls and I showed up just before 11. Well, at least we arrived while it was still morning. The girls had a good time. T caught a little fish in the little lake they have at the park. Both of the girls also got to feed some ducks and geese, including some babies. There was a little playground B played on with Bubble's youngest. She went down the huge slide four times even though I was sure she would be scared to death because it was so high up. Just after noon, everyone started packing up to leave. I took the girls to McDonald's for lunch. Poor little B was a terror, she was so sleepy. All that heat and running around playing really wore her out. She fell asleep before we got home. After transferring her to her bed, I took a bit of a nap myself.

I watched Casanova tonight. It got a little slow in the middle, but the ending really made up for it. An adorable little movie. I think it would be funnier after a couple of drinks though. hehe.

For Father's Day I am going to have the girls make a picture for their daddy, then take a picture of them holding it to email to him. We don't have a physical address for him yet, and it takes forever for stuff to get there anyway. While we are discussing Fathers, a big Happy Father's Day to all you Daddies out there.

Have you seen the commercials for the new Superman movie? One just came on TV. Seems like Superman is everywhere. He's even on my Pepsi cans. I have to admit, I've never been a big Superman fan, although I did see the old Christopher Reeve movies on cable as a kid. But the previews and commercial for this new one look pretty good. A good action movie is always fun to see in the theater.

I know I have that mentioned I'm going back to school in the fall. I'm really excited about it when I think on it. I'm hoping my classes won't be completely full of kids. I really need to get a few more acquaintances to go out with. People to catch a movie or grab a quick dinner with. Assuming I can find a babysitter. My mom will only keep them about once a week. She said she would also keep B while I take classes, but I may end up having to find someone else at least some of the days. Anywho, she hates to keep them at night. I told her she could simply put them to bed and sleep here, but she wants to go home afterwards and doesn't want to be out late. So my days are full of kids, errands, chores, and soon school. But school is a good thing. A chance to meet new people. Who knows, maybe one day soon, I will have too much of a social life to even have time to get on the computer.

Yeah, right.

Pictures from our trip

Fruit Loops, the breakfast of Princesses.

My sister, the Brat is really hard to wake up in the morning. Even when you threaten to post her picture on the internet if she doesn't. She said she didn't care, so here it is.

Home

We are home now. Actually we got home yesterday evening. I have some pictures to post later.

Kid pics

Here are a few pictures of little B in her new bathing suit. She's Mommy's little Pixie!

This is what happens when I leave my camera laying around unattended.

Mood

So I'm in a Shania Twain mood with the music right now. Mostly stuff from her very first big CD. So if you don't like it, you may want to hit the mute on your speakers before coming here for a while. ;)

A story

My daughter just finished third grade. School let out a couple of weeks ago, and I just had time to go through some of her papers. She had a writing portfolio, and some of her stuff was really cute. I asked her if I could post one of her stories and she said yes. This one was written January 4, 2005. They were working on Transitional, which is the first, then, finally stuff. I left the punctuation the same as she had it. And when commenting keep in mind she isn't quite nine yet. ;)

Down in a Pit is a Spaceship
Hello, my name is Mallisa Love. One day I went to Outer Space. I want to tell you about it. First, I was only about seven years old when I fell into a pit. Next, when I got to the bottom of the pit there was a huge spaceship right in front of my face when I looked up! Then, I didn't know how to open it, so I kicked it and all of a sudden it opened up. Last, when it opened up steam came out of it! So I went inside of it. I saw hundreds of buttons everywhere! I didn't know which one to push first. I finally found the right button and pushed it. I pushed it and I went to space. It was so fun that day! The end.

Hair cut time

Two years ago my oldest daughter donated her hair to Locks of Love. At the time we hadn't heard of them before. The lady cutting her hair mentioned them and said she was getting enough cut to donate, so we did. When T mentioned she wanted to get her hair cut again, I suggested she wait until she had enough to donate again.

As good as it gets

It's no big secret that I get down sometimes. I've blogged about it a lot lately. I don't intend this to be a big depressing post, it's just something I've been thinking over and want to get off my chest. The fact is I have hit a point in my life where I just want to yell out "YOU MEAN THIS IS IT?!?!" I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything. I have a lot to be thankful for, my girls are at the top of that list. But I feel unsatisfied with my life. I am in a relationship that has been up and down from the beginning, mostly down the last couple of years. Hubs and I are totally incompatible no matter how much he denies it. He escaped years ago by becoming a workaholic and I escaped into cyberspace.

While he was home visiting we hit a sort of truce. He absolutely does not want to end our relationship. We are working on a few key issues in it, but it's hard to discuss other problems when he refuses to see them. Neither of us are going to change so we are faced with this long-distance relationship thing. Even when he is done in Iraq he plans to stay with the same, or a similar, company but work here in the states. That means he will be gone two to three weeks then home a few days, depending on how far from home he is working.

So I get to stay home and play "happy suburban wife". I get to go back to school in the fall, something I have wanted to do for years. My needs and even some frivolous wants are met without me having to work outside the home and leave my kids with someone else a lot. I've got it made, right? A life of ease.

But something is missing. I don't have a lot of friends, but I never needed many. I have plenty of good friends, online and in person. I have my girls, my sisters, and my mom. And even a few acquaintances here in my neighborhood. I shouldn't feel lonely.

But at night I lay in bed alone and there is a heaviness in my heart. Because I'm afraid this is as good as it gets, and I just don't know how to be happy.

Fairy quiz

Take the quiz:
What mystical creature are you?

Faery 2
Mischevious, and tempramental, these faeries live a lone in the open plans. They aree known for their love of games and spirited play. Jumping from plant to plant they help spread seeds. Thier friends are the butterflys and dragon flys that chase them around. Their beauty if like the flower, bluming in the spring and forever remebered over the long cold winter.

Weekend stuff

I took my eight year old to see Over the Hedge yesterday. Very funny, I think I laughed more than she did. Bruce Willis plays a double talking raccoon. William Shatner is a possum, pretty sure he's going to in an Oscar for some of those "playing dead" scenes. His daughter is the first possum I've seen with too much eyeliner, Avril Lavigne does her voice. There's a skunk named Stella and a squirrel named Hammy that almost steal the movie.

Oh, and Puffin, make sure to check out the new video on my sidebar, I think you'll like it. :)

I also added more pictures on my Flickr account just click the box on the sidebar to go see.

Stuff

If you like 80's dance music, go check out Sar's Fun on Friday.

I rented a really good DVD this week. It's called An Unfinished Life, starring Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, and Jennifer Lopez. It's one of those serious deep films. And it had a bear in it! A really big one. So go rent the damn thing. You won't be disappointed.

New Routines

We took hubs to the airport this evening. He is headed back overseas until his next break in October. The last two weeks have just flown by. It's time for things to settle down into the lazy summer routine. There are a few things I need to do, such as re-join our zoo memebership. I let ours expire in the fall. Shame on me. We are going to Alabama fo a visit in a couple of weeks, good thing I have a laptop now! I am also planning an end-of-summer roadtrip for the girls, me, and my youngest sister, the Brat. More about that later.

Here's an interesting note, remember a couple of weeks ago my thumb rings turned up but not my Bastet ring? She turned up in one of my many trinket boxes. It was in the bathroom, right in front of my face the whole time. I was so excited! I don't wear it much anymore, but I've had it for years. I bought it at a museum store we used to have in the mall here, everything was museum replicas, or museum inspired. I guess
Tanya was right, jewelry will be found when it's ready to be found.
