Where the hell has Kat been for a week?

Aside from the few small posts I have made, I haven't posted in a week. I have made it around to most of my regular blogs, and even commented here and there, but my internet time has been in small bursts. Last week hubs decided that little B needed a tricycle. When I asked B what kind of bike she wanted, she replied without hesitation "princess bike". Now you mommies and daddies out there know that bikes are sized weird. This one is too small, she will outgrow it before summer, that one is too big, she can't reach the pedals yet. We went with the one that is a bit big. And yes, it has Disney Princesses on it.

Worried about spending too much time on the computer, I actually googled "online addiction" this weekend. And for the record, it wasn't my idea, someone even weirder than me came up with the idea. Anywhoo, the results I got were hilarious. At the top of the list was "The Center for Online Addiction". No, I'm not joking. And they have this online test to see if you have an internet addiction. I'm serious! I took it.

These were my results: You are an average online user. You may surf the web a bit too long at times, but you have control over your usage.

We all know how accurate these online tests are.

This last Saturday night was my oldest daughter's dance recital. She took tap and ballet this year. The theme of the recital was books. Her tap number was inspired by Madeline, and her ballet number was inspired by the book The Princess Bride. I didn't manage to get a picture of her in her tap costume, but will probably get her to put it on later for one. I have several good ones of her in the ballet costume. The end of show pictures even have her still in stage makeup and little B trying to figure out what's on big sister's eyes! She had a wonderful time, we are taking time off from dance this year, but she is already talking about what she wants to do when she gets back. The studio she takes class at has a dance company attached to it. We are going to try to go to both company shows as well as next years recital to keep her interested. I've talked with her teacher, she knows we are taking a break to prevent burnout. This was T's fifth dance recital, for those of you that don't know or don't remember, she won't be nine until Septemeber. We both need the break.

When T goes back, B may be old enough, or close to it to start! She wants to dance so bad, she has a little pair of white ballet slippers that went with her Halloween costume. She wears them around the house and Saturday night she wore them to T's show.

Sunday and Monday we lazed about the house avoiding holiday rush. We were supposed to get a bunch of cleaning and projects done, but you know how that goes. Tuesday we headed up to the mountains. I didn't realize how much little B enjoyed the mountains until we were almost up there and she yelled "found it! mountains!" She wanted to see a deer, and she got to in Cades Cove, just before it poured rain on us. We didn't make it to the stream to get our feet wet though because of the sporadic showers, but according to my car it was a good fifteen degrees cooler up there than down here and that alone was worth the trip. We grilled hotdogs and had a good family day.

Every so often I find a particular color following me around. This year it is a peachy orangey color. It started with my new fingernail polish called Sunset Prisms. Then I bought a new shirt that is a bit more orange than peach, but still in the same family. My new rose bush, that refuses to bloom so far, is a dark peachy color. So, sunset appears to be my color for the season. It coordinates well with my new purple summer slippers, don't you think?

Beautiful

Beautiful
By Christina Aguilera

Don't look at me Every day is so wonderful
And suddenly, it's hard to breathe
Now and then, I get insecure
From all the fame, I'm so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends, you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Trying hard to fill the emptiness
The piece is gone and the puzzle undone
That's the way it is

You are beautiful no matter what they say
Words won't bring you down
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words won't bring you down
Don't you bring me down today...

No matter what we do
(no matter what we do)
No matter what they say
(no matter what they say)
When the sun is shining through
Then the clouds won't stay
And everywhere we go
(everywhere we go)
The sun won't always shine
(sun won't always shine)
But tomorrow will find a way
All the other times

We are beautiful no matter what they say
Yes, words won't bring us down
We are beautiful no matter what they say
Yes, words can't bring us down
Don't you bring me down today

Don't you bring me down today
Don't you bring me down today

Feeling Better

I'm feeling better now, and will be back soon. I get down every now and then, you guys are great to put up with me. We are really just busy now. Last night was T's recital and we have plans for hubs last few days here. I'll put up a big post about it in a few more days.

Have a great week!

Update

I'm going offline. I don't know for how long. Maybe a week, maybe just a few days. I might check my email tomorrow, but that's it. I may not even do that. The internet eases my loneliness, but it's just an illusion.

I'm Pissed Off

I don't know if I've mentioned it but hubs is in for two weeks. He has done an awesome job of taking over the responsibility of the kids for the time he has been here. I get to sleep in late, be lazy. And why is he being so sweet and caring? Well, duh! Because he's horny of course!

Tonight he went out to meet up with some of his buddies. So here I sit alone. You would think I would be used to this by now. But I'm SICK of it. So what am I going to do about it???

Beats the hell out of me.

Maybe I should kick the internet habit and actually go out and meet real people. I'm on this thing way too much. I lurk through all my regular blogs, then go through peoples links when I run out of that. I'm on here way too much. I used to scrapbook, now I just diddle here. Maybe I should just quit blogging. Disappear into the real world.

Could someone tell me where you go to meet real people?

Grouchy Ramblings

Saturday night we saw the Da Vinci Code. It was good. We had popcorn and M&Ms. We shared a soda. Then I got drunk at a bar. We came home. I got queasy. Hubs got nothing. I slept til noon the next day. That's all I got to say about that.

In other weekend news...

My favorite show ever has ended. Charmed on the WB had their series finale on Sunday night. They knew it was ending, so they were able to wrap everything up and even give us a glimpse of the girls futures. I'm so glad it ended well, I hate it when shows just leave you hanging, not knowing what happens to everyone.

Monday night we saw Tristan and Isolde on DVD. I recommend everyone see this movie. It is a very old legend. I first read a book about it in high school, and loved the story. This version of it was so good I may buy the DVD and add it to my collection of movies-I-can-watch-over-and-over.

Today was my oldest daughters award ceremony at school. She received second honors (all As and Bs). Her classroom also voted for awards and they voted her "sweetest". She only has a day and a half left of school. I can't believe next year she will be a fourth grader!

This is the second time I typed this in. Blogger ate my first draft. I hope I didn't forget anything. Oh yeah! I learned something new today. A warm laptop makes a nice substitute heating pad when you have cramps.

My baby sister is all grown up!

Last night was my baby sister's graduation. She's the one in the middle. She was born two months before I turned 16, and now she's all grown up. Damn I'm old.

This summer, her last summer before "real life" our other sister and her husband are taking her to the beach with them. Then right after that I am taking her with me and my girls on a road trip.

Another tag!

I found this tag over at Xmichra's and it looked like fun.

This how it works: Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation of what the word means to you and why, and then pass out letters to those who want to play along.

Xmichra gave me the letter "C". Here are my words in no particular order.

Cats ~ Of course this was the first word I thought of! I love cats, all cats. I have two cats, both boys. An orange tabby named Charlie who always sleeps at my feet and a big ol' fluffy black and white named Mr. Whiskers, who actually claims my oldest daughter as his.

Curiosity ~ Goes right along with the cat thing. I have a very curious nature myself, and love to find out more about people I am getting to know. Which is why I love these tag things!

Children ~ My girls. Well, what can I say without getting all mushy??

Camera ~ I love taking pictures with my camera, especially pictures of my girls! And of course I have to put my pictures on my...

Computer ~ I love my computers! Yes plural, because not only do I have my home computer, I now have a laptop which was my birthday present and I can blog from ANYWHERE! Well, almost anywhere.

Chocolate ~ I love chocolate. Rich deep fudgy cake, milk choclate candies, all of it. And one of my newest favorite treats Chocolate Haagan Daaz. yummy.

Creative ~ I am a creative person in many ways and I admire creativity in others.

Comments ~ I love comments. Comments from old friends, comments from new friends, I am a totally comment whore! Aren't we all?

Color ~ I love color. If you ask my favorite color, I can't sick with just one. I can narrow my most favorites down to purple, blue, red and green. Which is my favorite at the moment depends on what the color is applying to and what mood I'm in.

Cute ~ My girls, cats, bunnies, puppies, I could go on, but you get the point.

That is my ten, now leave me a comment and ask me for a letter!

Random crap that probably only makes sense to me

I have a lot to say, and nothing to say. This is going to be one of those big rambling posts with no point in mind. I probably won't get a Fiction Friday out for a couple of weeks. I know I left the last story dangling, and I really didn't mean to, but I have a lot going on right now. There are only two weeks left of school for T. We have field day on Friday, award day sometime next week, and some project coming up due too. Also her dance classes are doubled up with rehearsals and such because her recital is the last Saturday of the month. And my baby sis is graduating this Friday night. Yay her! My husband is actually going to be home for all of that. I'm sure we will squeeze some family visits and day trips to the mountains in there too. He's in for two weeks.

Next topic of discussion, Half-Nekkid Thursday. This week is the Anniversary of the first one, and Osbasso has given us instructions for a special HNT. After this one I won't be posting them regularly. I am still going to leave the little button on the sidebar and I will occasionally put something up when the mood hits me, but it isn't going to be a regular thing. Many reasons why, I doubt I will share them. Cuz it's my blog, and I don't wanna.

But I have some good news! I found my thumb rings. I missed them. I am still missing my Bastet ring though. I haven't worn them in a while and can't remember where I put them. I have had cats long enough to know you don't just lay jewelry around so I tend to tuck it inside this box or that. (I have trinket boxes EVERYWHERE!) Unfortunately I haven't figured out where that particular ring is tucked. I know she isn't lost, just hiding. Ok, enough rambling for today.

Awesome Weekend

Well I had a really good weekend! There was lots of family time and lots of fun (I love this song! hehe). Saturday afternoon I met up with my younger sister, we'll call Sassy, at the mall to pick up a graduation gift for our baby sister, we'll call Brat. It's her first grown up jewelry! Doesn't she have great big sisters? It was Sassy's idea, I have to give her credit for it. :)

Saturday evening they both came over after the Brat finished work so we could give it to her together.
Then the Brat spent the night with me and the girls. We watched "The Family Stone" very good movie! She went with us to the mountains Sunday. It was supposed to rain, but it was just cloudy, and very chilly!

We started out in Cades Cove so B could see some deer. Cades cove is a big loop road that you ride around. Last time we were up there she slept through it and missed them! She did get to see some this time. Three together fairly early on and one young buck on her side of the car pretty close up. There are also several interesting spots to stop and look at this cabin or that old church. We usually don't stop, but today we did.

We stopped at a large area with an old mill, a house, and some other stuff. At the back of this area there is a small creek that we crossed and found a quiet spot with another slightly larger creek.

After a quick early dinner of sandwiches in my favorite picnic spot, (very quick it was getting very chilly by then), we went down to Gatlinburg to shop around a bit. We stopped at the Celtic Shop first and I bought a new sticker for my car, the paper it came with calls it the World Tree. I had to put it in my front window, because all my others were too tinted for the colors to show through good.
We picked up a couple of goodies for the Brat, as well as the girls, and we all got treats at the Smokey Mountain Candy Makers shop. Gummy bears for the girls, chocolate covered peanuts and chocolate taffy for Mom. :)

My Birthday night and more random pictures

I had a great time the night of my birthday. We went to the Olive Garden, very yummy. The waiters sang Happy Birthday to me in Italian. Afterwards we went by the mall for a relaxing, non stroller pushing time. Victoria's Secret had all new colors in my favorite kind of undies, so I bought some. :)

We didn't do much, but that was the greatness of it. We didn't HAVE to do much. We just looked good and had a relaxing evening out. Oh, and while we were at the mall, I took Bubbles into Hot Topic, she had never been! I was a little disappointed though, they didn't have very much in the section where they keep fairy stuff. They did have this cute little t-shirt I might go back for though!

Back at her house she gave me the coolest journal and photo album, in two of my favorite colors (lavender and lime green). I've decided to use them to record just "me" memories, starting with this night. I have plenty of other stuff to record kid memories. :)

Now for the random pictures:

My "me" photo album and journal.

Fiction Friday

Continued from here.

Found

Julie had her friend Cara bring some of her own clothes and help her dress for the club. Cara didn't like that she wanted to go alone, but had learned after years of friendship, that once Julie decided something, there was no turning back.

She did agree to let Cara drop her off. "Call me every half hour. If you miss a call, I'm sending the police down there. This isn't the kind of club you are used to."

"I will, I promise." Julie told her as she got out in front of the club.

Once inside she found a table along the wall where she could watch the doors. The crowd was still fairly small, and there was no sign of Kieran yet. After a couple of hours, she finally saw him. He came in the door with three other guys, all of them dressed completely in black. They headed straight to the back corner of the club. She got up and slowly walked back to where they were sitting. She only went close enough for him to see her and waited until she caught his eye. He looked very surprised. Then she turned back towards the door and glanced back deliberately to make sure he followed.

Once outside she walked a block before turning to look for him. He wasn't there. She stood there a minute wondering what to do. She was sure he understood what she wanted him to do.

"What are you doing here?" Julie jumped as his voice came from behind her.

"Where did you come from?"

"The alley. I asked you a question." He stood several feet away from her and looked prepared to bolt if she went any closer.

"I was about to ask you that. I don't understand why you are here or why you left like you did. That isn't like you. If you don't want to be with me, you should tell me to my face."

"Fine, I don't want to be with you."

"Liar. I can see it in your eyes. You were always a terrible liar." Julie looked closer at him and thought he seemed thinner and pale.

He looked away from her. "You shouldn't be here it isn't safe. It doesn't matter what I want, we just can't be together anymore."

She moved toward him, but he moved away to get a passing cab. "I don't understand, and I deserve an explanation."

"Not tonight. I'll come to you later." She rushed to him and held him. He gripped her for a moment before moving her towards the cab.

"Go home. I'll come to you soon."

She told the driver where she lived and sat back. He did love her, she could see it, something was pulling him away. She thought about the meeting with him, how he avoided getting near her, and how cold he felt when she held him.

to be continued

T reading in the car. Check out the little temporary tattoo on her arm.

This is the face B makes when you fuss at her now. She does it on cue. She's such a ham.

These are in one of my hanging baskets.

The side of my refrigerator. Yeah, there's even more stuff on the front. Some of these pictures are from when T was a toddler. The picture on the left under her school picture is her too, in a pink bathing suit when she was two.

Happy

Well, I must be in a good mood, I made it through two, not one TWO Patty Loveless CDs without tearing up. Do you know how hard it is to not tear up at Patty Loveless?

My whole room is purple. Yay! I have a new bookcase to put together. All my books are categorized, alphabetized, and organized. I just have to put them on the shelves. I'm in a very good mood, and nobody better mess it up!

Girl 1

Multiple post day again!

Blonde Woman From Tennessee

Two bored casino dealers are waiting at the crap table. A very attractive blonde woman from Tennessee arrived and bet twenty-thousand dollars ($20,000) on a single roll of the dice.

She said, "I hope y'all don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude."

With that, she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and yelled, "Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!" As the dice came to a stop she jumped up and down and squealed... "YES!!! I WON, I WON!"

She hugged each of the dealers and then picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly departed. The dealers stared at each other dumfounded. Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?" The other answered, "I don't know - I thought you were watching."

Moral: Not all Tennesseans are stupid and not all blondes are dumb, but all men are men.

I won something!

I won the Caption Contest over at Belle of the Brawl! I want to thank everyone that voted for me. This is really turning out to be a really good week for me. Bubbles is getting Mr. Bubbles to babysit all four of our kids so we can go out to eat tomorrow night for my birthday, just us girls! My office/library is almost done. (btw, bathroom is done, I just haven't taken the pictures yet.) How much better can this week get?!?!

Bounce

Oh yeah, check out this sexy little song on my sidebar. It's my new favorite song, I just have to dance when it comes on!

Flower Power

May is here! Which means May flowers. (Technically, they are April flowers because I prepared this post the other day, but you get the point!)

My pink roses are finally blooming.

A perfect pansy.

These two pictures are my small yellow rose bush. I have two. Both the yellow rose bushes bloomed first. The pink one finally bloomed, the red bush just now has buds and the peach colored one doesn't even have a bud yet! The peach is new, I just put it out this spring so I'm really wanting to see what they look like.
