Robin Williams

Still remodeling, but I hopped on the computer long enough to check my email. Oh, and here's the trailer for the new Robin Williams movie. It looks pretty funny. I might take the oldest to it.

Saturday Night

Yeah, it's Saturday night, and nobody is posting. Nobody is online. Just me. Talking to myself.

"How's it going self?"

"Not too good, nobody's online."

You see? I'm even answering myself.

I actually got some work done tonight. I have three walls of my office prepared for painting tomorrow night. Holes are patched, and I lightly sanded the walls to help the paint stick right. I also wiped down the walls. (Where the hell did all those cobwebs in the corners come from Mr. Orkin man?) So, it's all ready for paint. If everything goes well, I will do that tomorrow. Maybe early, maybe late. It all depends on the kids. That means the computer will be temporarily unplugged. I will be offline. Unconnected.

I will however, plug it up long enough to check emails. Nobody blogs on the weekends, (except me apparently), so I don't think I will be missing anything if I skip all my regular blogs tomorrow. I will be back on Monday. Really, I will.

Awesome driving song

The other day on my way to pick up my two year old this song came on the radio. Picture me driving along, windows open, radio blasting, singing along, loudly. Yeah, I'm nuts I have so few such free happy moments anymore, I tend to go overboard. It should be playing on the video player on my sidebar. It's one of the greatest driving songs ever.

Love Shack
By The B-52's

If you see a faded sign by the side of the road that says
15 miles to the... love shack! love shack yeah
I'm headin' down the atlanta highway, lookin' for the love getaway
Heading for the love getaway, love getaway,
I got me a car, it's as big as a whale and we're headin' on down
To the love shack
I got me a chrysler, it seats about 20
So hurry up and bring your jukebox money
The love shack is a little old place where we can get together
Love shack baby, love shack bay-bee.
Love baby, that's where it's at, ooo love baby, that's where it's at

Sign says.. woo... stay away fools, 'cause love rules at the love shack!
Well it's set way back in the middle of a field,
Just a funky old shack and i gotta get back

Glitter on the mattress
Glitter on the highway
Glitter on the front porch
Glitter on the hallway

The love shack is a little old place where we can get together
Love shack baby! love shack, that's where it's at!
Huggin' and a kissin', dancin' and a lovin', wearin' next to nothing
Cause it's hot as an oven
The whole shack shimmies! the whole shack shimmies when everybody's
Movin' around and around and around!
Everybody's movin', everybody's groovin' baby!
Folks linin' up outside just to get down
Everybody's movin', everybody's groovin' baby
Funky little shack! funky little shack!

Hop in my chrysler, it's as big as a whale and it's about to set sail!
I got me a car, it seats about 20
So hurry up and bring your jukebox money.

Bang bang bang on the door baby! knock a little louder baby!
Bang bang bang on the door baby! i can't hear you
Your what?.... tin roof, rusted!

Love shack, baby love shack!
Love baby, that's where it's at
Huggin' and a kissin', dancin' and a lovin' at the love shack

Fiction Friday

Missing

Kieran had been missing for two weeks. The police wouldn't do anything. Julie went to the station everyday at first, the last time she went an officer told her they checked his apartment. Everything had been moved out. He told her that her boyfriend apparently decided to move on and not tell her. She didn't believe it. She knew Kieran to well. They always talked their problems out. If something was bothering him, he would have told her, not run away.

She bumped into him almost a year ago at a local coffee shop, literally. On her way out the door she was distracted by her friend and ran right into him. They hit it off immediately and soon were rarely seen apart. There was so much they had in common, and he understood her, even if he didn't always agree. She was sure she had finally met her soulmate.

And now he was gone.

The last time she saw him was when he dropped her off at the airport for a trip to see her family. The day before she came home, he didn't' answer the phone. She knew something had happened to him. The week before she left for her trip, he thought he was being followed. There was a strange man he was sure he saw more than once. It seemed too odd to be a coincidence.

Since the police were no help, she put posters up with his picture on it around town. On it she simply put "Have you seen this Man?", with her phone number. Just when she was about to give up hope, she received a call. According to the girl who called, she had seen Kieran across town several times in a new gothic night club. He was always with the same group of people. A strange clique that kept to itself. The girl wouldn't give her name, and quickly hung up. It was obvious she was afraid of something.

So Julie took the time to research the club. She wanted to know everything about it before she went down there. She would confront Kieran. If he didn't want to be with her, that was fine, but she deserved to be told. If he were in trouble, hanging with the wrong group, she wanted to help. And then there was always the chance that this frightened girl who called was simply wrong. Tonight, she would find out.

A Big Rambling Post

Exhibitionism: the psychological need and pattern of behavior to exhibit naked parts of the body to other people — that is, parts of the body that would otherwise be covered by clothes according to the standards of the local cultural norms.

Some people might say the whole Half-nekkid thing I like to do on Thursdays makes me an exhibitionist. But I would like to point out the line "parts of the body that would otherwise be covered by clothes according to the standards of the local cultural norms." Back when I started the whole HNT thing, I made the decision that if I don't mind showing it in public, including pool side, then it would be ok to show. You will NEVER see me show anything on here that a bikini covers. It is outside of my comfort zone. Everyone has a comfort zone. I have never even had private pictures taken of me by anyone or for anyone. And I never will. I'm not saying it's wrong, it just isn't something I do.

Ok, so what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Not a damn thing, just something that was on my mind. I'm pretty sure that anyone who really knows me already knows that.

Next topic of discussion, my bathroom. I started fixing it up a month or two ago. After two colds and spring fever, I have finally finished it. I actually had all of it done except for putting a new coat of paint on the doors and on the old cabinets under the sink. I finally found time to do it this week. I also found new handles for the cabinets and drawers. As soon as I tidy it up a bit, I will get some pictures and post them. My next project is my office/library. I already have the room cleared and tonight I am going to patch up some really big holes from where someone had lord knows what attached to the wall. Painting in here shall begin this weekend. That means I will probably be offline for a day or two. Or maybe not. I may get this room done in record time considering how addicted I am to the internet!

Speaking of addictions, I have added some new stuff to the sidebar. I also updated my links. Check it out when you have the time.

There will be a Fiction Friday this week too. But, I might not get it posted until tomorrow evening.

Oh yeah, and I'm a finalist over at
Sar's Caption Contest. She has a poll on her sidebar where you can vote

Half-Nekkid Thursday ~ Ghost blogger? and a bonus!

And here's the bonus:

Chocolate haagen-dazs right out of the container. I've never had it before, and it seemed like a good night for it.

For more information about HNT, click the button on my sidebar.

Make sure you check out the video on my sidebar. The song was suggested by Bubbles. We both love it. It's from one of the Batman movies. The one with Val Kilmer as Batman. Damn he's hot.

My color?

Your true color is Brown!

You’re brown, a credible, stable color that’s reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you’re a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you’re probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you’re constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it’s by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.

My baby sister is graduating high school this year. This is a picture our other sister took of her. It turned out so good, they are going to use it for her cap and gown shot.

Isn't she cute?

On a lighter note...

After a nice chat with a friend today, I'm feeling a lot more cheerful, so I decided to post something nicer than my last post. Here are some pictures from our trip to the Smokeys this past Sunday.

Here are the girls in the back of the car. T is reading, she didn't even know I took the picture!

Going through Pigeon Forge we saw a lot of old cars, apparently there was a show going on. This one caught my eye. I think it's a Camero, someone clue me in if I'm wrong!

Once in the mountains, we went to our favorite eating spot. The view from our picnic area.

The girls.

Checking out the stream up close.

Doe, a deer, a female deer. This was in Cades Cove. Poor little B missed it, she fell asleep before we got there. We told her next time we go up we will start in Cades Cove and work back the other way so she can look for a deer.

Advice to men

Men, listen up. When you are going to tell your buddies what a BITCH your wife is, make sure the phone is all the way hung up.

Nuff said.

Writing dilemma

I decided to write a love story for this week's Fiction Friday. I thought it would balance out the creepiness of last week. Yeah, you guessed it. I'm stuck. So-and-so meets Miss So-and-so, they fall madly in love at first sight and blah, blah, blah, gag.

I think I'll stick with creepy.

Happy Earth Day!

Go here for neat Earth Day information.

Ok, so I was in a good mood, minding my own business the other day, when it hits me. My birthday is coming up soon. In less than two weeks actually. I will be 34 on May 3rd. This year has been an interesting year. I knew it would be. I remember thinking, 33 will be different. Boy was it! I have met so many new wonderful friends, and changed so much as a person. Hubs is going to send me to the spa for my birthday. Just a day thing, massage and facial. He doesn't know, I haven't told him yet. My Aveda spa. I love Aveda.

Anyway, on to other things. We finally decided what to do for vacation when he comes in at the end of May. We are going to stay close to home. A few days in the mountains, or maybe just a couple of day trips. There is an aquarium up there and lots of shopping, as well as the whole "nature" thing. I'm actually taking the girls and our golden up there tomorrow, weather permitting, for a picnic. We also want to get the girls a new swingset. The one we have is the metal kind, and it looks pathetic after two year. I would like to get one of the nice wood ones, to last a while now that I am not expecting to move again.

I was also thinking I should plan some sort of trip for just me and the girls later in the summer. I hate to go through all of June and July as well as part of August without some sort of trip. I thought about a beach trip, we haven't been to a beach in 6 years. Little B has never been and T was B's age when we lived near one for a year. Then I thought, wouldn't it be fun to take one of those trips where you hit this spot for a couple of days, then move on to there for a few more, and spend a week or two just traveling. ROAD TRIP! So, I'm going to start planning that soon. I need to find out when T starts school back. AND....

I am going back to college in the fall, so I need to see when that starts too! Ok, enough rambling for now.

Third post of the day!

My new drug. Tangerine Jelly Bellies.

Can you say super sugar rush? I knew you could!

Now go down and read my other two posts!

Pilates

I used to do Pilates a lot. I took a class for nine months before I became pregnant with little B (she's the 2 year old). I loved it. Not only did I get in shape, I became even more flexable than I am nautrally. Another perk is how you become aware of all the different parts of yourself. I felt I was flowing more than moving. Well, my teacher who I loved, moved back to California for family reasons. The girl who took over seemed to think Pilates was a different form of aerobics, and I soon quit. I have several tapes to work out to, but haven't used them in a while. Today I did and found out that I'm not so much out of shape as I thought. Now if I can just develop the habit of doing it regularly and stick with it!

Well, that's all. I was just proud of me and wanted to share! :)

If you haven't read my Fiction Friday yet, go down to the next post and check it out.

Fiction Friday

Forgotten

He wanted her to take a sleeping pill. He said she needed rest, needed to relax. She knew what he meant by that. So she took it. She always did. She never wanted to, and told him that several times, but in the end she took it. If she didn't he would throw a tantrum, yelling and screaming at her. He would keep her up all night. So to shut him up, she took the pill.

She wouldn't remember much the day after taking one of those pills. They knocked her out. The next day she wouldn't even remember going to bed. All she could ever remember were a few flashes. Usually when something was painful. The pain seemed to clear her head temporarily. But the day after she wouldn't remember much.

When she woke up next to his bloody body, she called the police. Her sewing shears from the basket on her nightstand were sticking out of his chest. She told them she didn't remember how they got there. The police said he had been dead most of the night. She told them she didn't remember what happened. She told them about the pills. They tested her blood and found large amounts of the pills from the bottle on her nightstand. The police told her they believed her. It must have been some horrible drug induced accident.

She didn't tell them that the pills don't knock her as much as they used to.

Blooming time in Tennessee!

My irises and my rose bushes have buds all over them! I will be posting pictures galore when they are in full bloom. You have been warned. My mint has come back and spread! It actually skipped the river rock border and escaped into the yard a little. Instead of being mad, I was actually a little proud of it. My sage came back twice as big as last year! I'm so excited. Can you tell?

I have some rosemary and lavender started in a starter kit. If I can get seedlings growing I will plant them outside. I haven't had much luck with lavender yet. I had rosemary once before we moved, but I bought a small plant, I didn't try to start it from seeds. I need to put some zinnia seeds out too. I think I have some somewhere, I forgot about them. Oh! and I have to get new trellises so I can put morning glory seeds out, in red and dark purple. Very easy to grow, as long as you don't mind cutting it back every few weeks in the summer. Same as the mint. I don't mind, I get more irritated when stuff won't grow at all than when it runs amok.

I'm sure I have posted a picture of the small pond we put in last year. Well, this year I put a lily in it! I'm waiting for it to grow to the surface. They are supposed to be relatively easy to grow. Once it makes it to the top I am going to get a fish. Koi probably. We had a goldfish last year, Goldie. We had him over a year, and he was one of the reasons we put a pond in, to move him here, but he died. I'm having trouble with the pond being green though. I have stuff to put in it that is safe for plants and fish, but it's still green! Ack. I'll figure it out.

So what's in your garden??

Classy Eye Candy

Well, it has been a while since my last eye candy post, so this is going to be a big one.

I decided to use classy as a theme not knowing how hard it would be to find classy actors!

Most yummy and classy, Hugh Jackman.

Bond, James Bond. Yes Pierce Bronson is my favorite Bond ever.

Well, everyone knows who Mel Gibson is. I almost didn't think of him, it has been so long since he has been in front of the cameras.

And for the men....

A very classy Diane Lane. I just saw her in Must Love Dogs, great movie!

And Kate Winslet. This is a picture of her from Finding Neverland. My favorite of her movies.

Bunni's new house

This is the rabbit that the husband brought home in October. Someone had abandoned her in another guys backyard. We had her in a little 8 x 8 pen the husband put together, but it really wasn't the best shelter for her, so I ordered her a little rabbit hutch. She seems to like it. I am keeping the little pen we have so the girls pet her in it without worrying about her running away, and so she can get some exercise in it.

Frazzled

Ok, hubs is coming home sooner than we expected, at the end of May. That gives me a month and a half to prepare and plan and budget a vacation. Oh, and he reminded me also I have to budget for those two weeks he won't get paid for.

So the trip to London is obviously postponed now. I'm actually relieved, I wasn't really looking forward to that sort of trip with a two year old. I am now looking at vacation ideas closer to home. The beach, or maybe Disney World again. I'd really love to go to Disney World, but this is all going to be just days after school ends and dance recital is over and the next month and a half is really going to be busy, busy, busy already without me having to plan, budget, and pack for three people to go on a trip. I would sort of like to go somewhere I can rest for vacation. Then again, with two kids how will I get any rest no matter where we go. Maybe I should leave them all here and run away for a few days alone.

If anyone has any vacation ideas for a frazzled family on a tight budget, please share!

And staying home isn't an option, there isn't enough here to keep hubs entertained.

I trimmed my bush!

That's right, I trimmed my bush. It was getting awfully long and scraggly.

It was starting to block some necessary equipment. Well, I suppose not everyone agrees it is necessary, especially old timers, but I do. Why, I use it about every day!

Luckily I have this awesome electric bush trimmer. Zip, zip and the job is done.

I was thinking I should just get rid of the bush all together, but I'm kinda fond of it. So I simply gave it a nice trim job.

Anywho, here is a picture of my trimmed up bush, and that most necessary piece of equipment.

Don't forget to check out my fiction friday in the next post.

Friction Friday

He bent to kiss her mouth, soft at first, then more urgently. She felt her own aching need respond as his arms surrounded her. She slipped her hands up around his neck pressing herself against him. His mouth moved down her neck, savoring every inch. Moving back to kiss her mouth, he slipped the straps of her dress off her shoulders as she unbuttoned his shirt.

He unzipped the back of her dress and let it fall to her feet. She wore nothing underneath. He cupped her breast and kissed it teasingly before taking it into his mouth. A soft sound escaped her. He slid his hands down to her backside and lifted her against him. She wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her to the bed.

Once they were lying together he moved his mouth back to hers, using his hands to play with her nipples. She arched her back in pleasure then pulled him against her, opening to him and taking him inside her. She let out a gasp as he filled her then slowly began to move. Her hips rose to meet him with every thrust, her nails digging into his back. They moved faster, more urgently until the waves of pleasure enveloped her crashing into a moment of blinding pleasure seconds before him.

40. Favorite musician(s)/bands you've seen in concert? The only three concerts I've been to were Randy Travis/Alan Jackson, Reba/Brooks and Dunn, and Alan Jackson/forgot who the hell opened for him. So I guess it would be Reba. My sister got to see Madonna in Atlanta and I couldn't go!

41. Have you ever been in love? Unfortunately

42. Do you talk to yourself? Occasionally, but I almost never answer, do I? Nope, I sure don't.

43. Is there anybody you just wish would fall of the face off the earth? ummmm....hehe

I might have a fiction friday up later. I have an idea, now if I could just get it to work out!

HNT ~ Proof

Here is proof that I really have been redecorating my bathroom. I've been sidetracked twice now by the cold from HELL. But I'm feeling much better and will post before and after pictures soon!

Another random picture post

Last month I had to go downtown to file some paperwork at the courthouse. I took the camera in hopes of catching something interesting.

My first job. I was nineteen. There's no drivethrough, but man did we get loads of homeless. I still remember this one guy, he was so polite and never smelled of alcohol, I always wondered what put him in his situation.

The Tennessee Theater.

A glimps of the river from Main Street.

I've always thought this building was interesting.

Multiple post day

I wanted to thank everyone that wished me a happy blogiversary! A lot of people have also asked if I am feeling better than I was last week, and I am. You guys are all so sweet, how could I not feel better!

Now go over to Shayna's and wish her a happy birthday, she's having a most awesome party!

One more flashback

The following post is from April 24, 2005.

Once upon a time...

Well, this will have to be a good post because everyone knows all good stories start with once upon a time. Except one I read recently. It was very short. This is a lot of pressure to be under. Ok, here goes...

Once upon a time a housewife was bored.
So she started a blog.
Then she kissed her boring husband,
Who turned into a frog.

So where is my happy ending?
The wife began to cry.
And that is when her husband,
Ate a big fly.

Ok, so maybe it isn't the greatest story ever told, but it is a bit funny.

Dance

Ok, so I stopped bothering with the weekly music theme. I change it with my mood now. Tonight I put up Lady, by Lenny Kravitz. I just love this song. It makes me want to get up and move!

Some things never change

Here is another post from the past. It is from April 6, 2005. I double checked the link and it still works, so go make a pig. Except Bubbles, I've heard enough about pigs from you!

Piggy Doodle

I found this site through another blog. You draw a pig, then see what it says about you. My poor pig didn't even have a tail!
Have fun!

Tell everyone about your pig.

Flashback post

Below is my second post ever from April 4, 2005.

Chat Rooms

One lonely night, not too long ago, I decided to try a chat room in search of intelligent conversation. I chose one from my age group in the peers category. Once there, I was totally confused (even more than usual). Apparently chatters have their own little shorthand and lingo. Being a chat room virgin, I was lost. Even the user names were odd mixtures of characters and letters. So much for for interesting conversation on the internet. Being fair, I only tried a handful of chat rooms before giving up. I suppose if I looked long enough I would have found one for me.
My endless searching of the internet is what brought me to blogger. Here is a place I can express my Thoughts and Reflections into the void of the internet. No worries whether anyone reads them. I have expressed, and that is the main goal. That's all for now.
Later Void.

Of course we know now what a comment whore I have become!
